Corruption, In My Opinion, Yes

EHFJR

Updated: 6 days ago

I was very amused to find my name being dragged through the mud by our Board of Directors in their latest HOA Open Meeting presentation.  It seems the Board is not happy with my use of the word “Corruption” in a comment I made on social media.

For those interested but not yet familiar with the situation, please refer to page 37 of the 2/25/2025 slide presentation.  It is available on the HOA website.

But first, let's define the word “Corruption”.  Corruption is simply:

Dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in positions of authority.

Since corruption is simply dishonesty by those in power, I would think corruption would be easy to identify.  But our Board must believe there is much more to corruption.

Let's look at the situation in detail.

1.      On social media, I stated “You would not believe the corruption we are uncovering…” I was referring to documents that have been turned over to me by the defendants, the HOA Board.

2.      We, the plaintiffs, have found many instances of dishonest behavior as evidenced by the documents.

3.      I will not use the word fraudulent. I am confident I can recognize dishonest behavior, lies, and intentional deception, I will leave it to the legal experts to determine if fraud has occurred.

4.      Apparently, our Board took exception at my use of the word “corruption”.  They stated the following. This is taken verbatim from page 37 of the 2/25/2025 presentation.

“There has been, to date, no proof of corruption that has been identified as part of the lawsuit that has been communicated to the HOA by the plaintiffs or their attorney.  These are claims which have no merit as they are written by Mr. F* .

5.      Let me translate these poorly written statements.  The statements attempt to explain that “Since no formal charges have been entered in a court of law as part of the original complaint, corruption does not exist.”   I hope everyone agrees that this is preposterous. It implies a crime has not been committed unless formally charged.

6.      This is not true. For example, if your vehicle is stolen, has theft only occurred once the perpetrator is caught and charged with theft?  If a man is shot dead, does murder occur only after someone is charged with that crime.  What is it otherwise, “An untimely, intentional expiration?”

7.      Given our earlier definition of corruption, I believe we are all capable of determining dishonest actions by those in positions of authority, with some better at it than others.

8.      In fact, I reserve the right to my opinion, and to my determination that the actions of individuals, in positions of authority, are dishonest. Isn’t it a matter of one’s opinion?  I suggest it is an easy test – with some instances of corruption, more obvious than others.

My original position remains.  We have found numerous instances of dishonesty and intentional deception by those in positions of authority, otherwise known as corruption.  We have found corruption going back years and up to and including the present.

We are evaluating the evidence.  If we feel justice will be served by amending our complaint with additional charges, we will do so without hesitation.

Meanwhile, I hope you are as amused by our Board’s frequent diatribes, as we are.

Thank you.
