I read with various emotions the document distributed titled Summary of Q1.... I will admit I did not watch the accompanying video. Back in December I watched the first video. In that video it was announced with great aplomb, the success at renegotiating the Maintenance Contract and how money saved, will now be used for the courses, while we all know, HOA Operating funds can not be used to financially support the LLC. Ever since then, I just get a very uneasy, queasy feeling when I attempt to watch his videos. I suppose I could always get through a video if I had a drink, but frankly I don't like to drink that much. I guess it is just what I believe this man represents.
Reading the document, I am disturbed by its blatantly false revelations and very harsh accusations pointed at those who are believed to be fabricating and spreading rumors. I am disturbed because it looks to me, like there are signs of paranoia and what appears to be somewhat unsteady behavior.
Claims are made that people are attacking this individual's character. The president of a large HOA, surely must recognize not everyone is going to agree with all decisions or policies, especially since decisions seem to be made without consulting the constituency. Many are still scratching their heads over proposed amenities that were more suitable for 14 year old children versus an adult retirement community. This was a surprise to everyone.
At a meeting I attended on May 22, with the President and Treasurer, the meeting concluded with the President threatening me. He did not like an email that was circulating that was critical of his education. I do not know who sent the email and informed him of such. Still, he threatened me.
I was at this meeting at the President's invitation and then he threatens me over some nonsense concerning his degree. Very peculiar, and uncalled for.
I read, and re-read the document. It is disturbing but also entertaining. I am entertained because it appears all the stops are being pulled to prove himself. I have never seen someone, in a position of authority, try so hard to gain approval, which makes me think, he knows he's wrong, he knows there are issues, but of course, he will never admit it and will maintain that all is well.
But again, this is my opinion. Readers are encouraged to form their own opinions.
So what does Shakespeare have to do with all this, you ask? Well, in my opinion, reading this Q1 document, I find so much to be just absurd, and the tone just so defensive and abrasive. Well, what comes to mind is the famous line from Hamlet:
Methinks Thou Doth Protest Too Much.
